Translate Welcome to our home in Torrent. We love our home, its our first home in Spain and it feels like a real family home. When we bought the 'chalet' (as it is called in Spanish), we completely renovated everything, so now its our dream home. We brought the 50year old chalet completely up to speed with modern technology: solar panels, air-water pump, descaling machine to soften the water, air conditioning and underfloor heating to make it climate proof. We added floor to ceiling glass windows to bring the outdoors in and fully enjoy the changing of the light in the garden during the day. As you can see in the pictures, we are totally mad about Morocco and the magical Riads, so we added many beautiful Arabic (and some Indian) details to our house, all the while keeping it Scandinavian too: modern and light, in black and white. We live in El Vedat de Torrent, a beautiful residential area with lots of pine trees, just 20min south of Valencia. Our suburb is situated at the edge of the ‘campo’ (countryside), where you can smell the blossom of citrus trees in spring. We are just 8 minutes drive from the hustle and bustle of the Torrent city centre. About the neighborhood Loading... Translate We live in El Vedat de Torrent, a beautiful old residential area with lots of chalets and large plots. El Vedat is known for its pine trees. Our suburb is situated at the edge of the ‘campo’ (countryside), where you can smell the blossom of citrus trees in spring We are just 8 minutes from the hustle and bustle of the Torrent city centre, (a city of 80.000 inhab) where you can find everything you need. By car its 20 mins to Valencia city, Spains third largest city, a city on the beach: The famous 'city of Arts and Sciences' by architect Calatrava might be the highlight of your visit there. You can also go cycling through the Turia park, eat Paella for lunch, visit the CAHH art museum, visit the the Oceanographic Aquarium, go shopping in Calle Colon/ el Saler centro comercial/ Bon Aire or Aqua shopping centre. There are movie theatres with movies in spanish or English (called VOCE= version original). Or just relax at one of the many beaches along the loooong coastline. Another trip would be to do a wine tasting in the vineyards surrounding Utiel/Requena Or a tour to a citrus farm to discover everything about oranges and lemons and their history in this area. Or visit /ride a bicycle in the rice fields around the lake Albufera, take a boatride across the lake and eat paella in el Palmar. And, dont forget Fallas, the biggest festival of Valencia from 15-19 March. Other Loading... Translate - Please be aware that the swimming pool is deep and not gated off.
